Lillianna gasped out with a force she hadn't thought possible, her breathing ragged and urgent. She immediately clutched her chest, feeling as though she had been held underwater for hours before finally being allowed to surface once more. Forcing her blurry eyes to focus, she saw a familiar face looking down at her as she laid helplessly in his arms.
"A-Aedan?" she murmured, her voice sounding even weaker than she felt. A sudden pounding caused her free hand to fly up to her forehead, massaging it gently in hopes of settling the pain. "God, my head... What happened?"

Tears flowed down Aeron's face, harder now that his emotions were firing on all cylinders. He still felt the pain of loss, of knowing that Lillianna was gone to him. Here she was, breathing and talking, but he couldn't shake the feeling. She was dead. He had accepted it. Then it sunk in. She's not dead! It was too good to be true. His happiness overwhelmed the pain. She was back in his life, and he was going to do almost whatever it took to keep her there. Anything except for turn her, which she specifically told him she didn't... "No..." Another realization hit him. She was dead. And against her wishes, against his wishes, someone turned her.
One name rang out in his mind. "Ambrose." Burying his head once more in the nape of her neck, he let the tears flow, carrying his pain, his happiness, and most importantly, his rage. "I'm going to kill her. I am going to KILL her. I am so sorry Lillianna, but she HAS to die. Now more than ever." he whispered to her flesh. A fresh set of tears cascading down his face, he held her tight, knowing that as soon as he let go, his life would never be the same. "Just a few more seconds" he thought. "Just let her be the same old Lillianna for just a few more seconds..."

"Wha?" Lillianna's brows furrowed in confusion at Aeron's strange, overly emotional reactions and seemingly random ramblings. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she dropped the hand at her forehead to push against his shoulder, struggling to wriggle out from underneath him. "Hold on, what are you babbling about?"
Finally bringing herself to a somewhat upright position, she shook out the hand that she managed to free from between Aeron and her own chest and took a quick look at the room around her. Upon seeing where they were, it felt like she was trying to recall a scene from a distant dream. It was familiar to her, but for some reason, she couldn't remember where exactly she was or how she'd gotten there.
"And where the hell are we?"

Allowing Lillianna to sit of her own accord, Aeron stood and walked a few paces away, giving himself a moment to recompose. Wiping the tears from his face with the cuff of his sleeve, he inhaled deeply, forcing his mind to focus on the breath he drew and held. Before letting it go, he reminded himself of where Lillianna was mentally, and how he had helped Shaye through the same thing several years previous. He turned back to her and spoke in as calm a voice as he could muster.
"Lillianna, we are in the dungeon of Ambrose's favorite torture chamber. What's the last thing you remember?" he asked as he offered his hand to help her up.

"I... I don't... remember. Not exactly, anyway," Lillianna trailed off, more to herself than to Aeron, as she gingerly took his hand and pulled herself to her feet. As soon as she was fully upright, the room around her began to spin in dizzying circles, causing her to stumble haphazardly into him. Embarrassed, she tried to steady herself on her own, holding both of her hands firmly against the sides of her head. Despite her attempts, nothing seemed to dull the intense throbbing that only seemed to grow worse, and against her wishes, she could feel her body beginning to give out once more.
"I can't remember what happened, but it's like..." She fumbled around in her head as she searched for the right words, all the while avoiding eye contact with him, hating that she felt as weak as she did. "I remember the feeling of it all, if that makes sense... I was worried. Scared. But not for me..."
Lillianna knew exactly what she had felt. The warmth in her cheeks and what remained of her common sense urged her not to speak it, and yet, she felt compelled to tell him. Whether it was her current fragile state or the genuine concern Aeron had shown for her well-being, she thought it was only fair that he should know. Finally raising her gaze to meet his, the unfiltered confession fell from her lips at the first glimpse of his sapphire eyes.
"You," she exhaled in barely a whisper. Realizing how awkward the quiet word had sounded, especially staring directly at him, she immediately averted her eyes and cleared her throat before stammering on. "I mean, I-I thought you were in trouble so... I guess... I was... Worried... About you..."

Aeron's eyes fell to the floor. He muttered a barely audible "Stupid..." as he clenched his fists, trying to keep calm for Lillianna's sake. With a deep inhale, he put on the best smile he could fake and brought his eyes back up to meet hers. "Lillianna... That was a trap. I can only assume Ambrose sent you here on a wild goose chase to hurt me." His fists clenched tighter with the mention of that name. She WILL pay for this, but not just yet. Lillianna will need to figure her new life out first... But before even that, she has to be told what she now was. "Now I'm sorry that you seem to be suffering from a slight amnesia, but we have a more important issue in front of us. So I'll ask how you would rather have me present this to you; all at once or more gradually?"
